Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
The versatile Reagan Peters has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at Marquette University beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I’m am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Marquette University!! Thank you to my family who never stops supporting me, friends for always being there, and those in heaven watching over me. I also wanna thank Coach Joel and Coach Megan for this awesome opportunity!! Go Golden Eagles!
A rising high school senior, Peters trains year-round with Pikes Peak Athletics in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she specializes in the full range of freestyle events as well as backstroke and IM.
Peters is coming off a 2025-26 short course season that saw her drop significant time across most of her primary events. She dropped over a minute and 19 seconds in the 1650 free, nearly 11 seconds in the 400 IM, over six seconds in the 200 back, nearly six seconds in the 200 IM, over four and a half seconds in the 200 free, just under a second in the 100 free, right around eight tenths in the 100 back, and a couple tenths in the 50 free. Her only lifetime best that predates this season is the 500 free (5:07.14), set during the 2024-25 season; she clocked a season-best 5:12.57 in February.
She set all of her current lifetime bests (shown below) across various club meets throughout the season: the CO PPA Prelim/Finals Meet in November, the FL RAFC Winter Classic in December, and the Four Corners Speedo Sectional Championships in March.
Top SCY Times:
- 50 Freestyle: 24.84
- 100 Freestyle: 53.14
- 200 Freestyle: 1:52.89
- 500 Freestyle: 5:07.14
- 1650 Freestyle: 17:13.38
- 100 Backstroke: 58.23
- 200 Backstroke: 2:01.24
- 200 IM: 2:04.12
- 400 IM: 4:20.75
Marquette University, an NCAA Division I school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is adding a women’s varsity swimming next season. The team will compete in the Big East conference, where they will join Butler, UConn, Georgetown, Providence, Seton Hall, Villanova, and Xavier.
Peters’ current personal best in the 400 IM would have placed sixth in the ‘A’ final, while her times in the 200 IM, 200 free, and 200 back would have been quick enough for ‘B’ final appearances, and her PBs in the 50 free, 100 free, 500 free, and 100 back fast enough to advance to ‘C’ finals. Given that she’s already in scoring range in each of her top events, including ‘A’ final range, and still has two full seasons of training to go before lining up for her first conference meet, it’s safe to say she is going to make her mark early on.
Peters joins Maggie Raniere, Mariposa Arroyo, Lauren Tableman, Clare Weber, Zoe Park, and Audrey Serres in committing to Marquette’s class of 2031 so far. Ariana Amaro, Reese Anderson, Eliana Bosque, Evelyn Chin, Mackenzie Choinski, Bridget Corro, Lexie Gliniecki, Raleigh Kaul, Amelia Labno, Enya Linson, Nina Newton, Lilly Nicholas, Ali Oswell, Sadie Podoll, Hannah Quigley, Quinn Ramaeker, Maren Romine, Allie Seiler, Janna Spetz, Finley Warren, and Kayla Wieckowski are all slated to join the team for the inaugural season in a few weeks’ time.
