Two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Patrick Dunn has verbally committed to swim and study at Dartmouth College in the class of 2031. At the time of his commitment, he wrote on social media:
“I am so excited to commit to the admissions process to swim and study at Dartmouth College! Thank you coaches Milana and Blair for this amazing opportunity. Many thanks to my coaches at SAC and Brophy — Coaches Scott, Garrett, Aaron, Brubaker, O’Neil and Tolar — for all your immense support over the years. A special shout out to Coach Bob Platt who we lost too soon, but I know is watching over me, especially during Tuesday animal practice. Love to my family — Mom, Dad, Grace and Cate. I am excited for this next chapter. Go Big Green! 🌲”
Dunn, whose oldest sister Grace swam at Columbia in the class of 2026 and older sister Cate attends Brown and swims on the club team, is a rising senior at Brophy College Preparatory. He trains year-round with Scottsdale Aquatic Club.
As a sophomore at the 2024 Arizona High School Division 1 State Championship, Dunn won the 500 free (4:33.67) and placed 7th in the 200 free (1:43.88). Both times were lifetime bests. In 2025, he placed 3rd in the 500 free and 4th in the 200 free, improving his PBs to 4:30.52 and 1:41.59, respectively. A month later he competed at 2025 Winter Juniors West and lowered his newly-minted PB in the 500 to 4:30.19, while also hitting new bests in the 100 free (48.16) and 1000 free (9:19.34).
At the 2026 Four Corners Sectional meet, Dunn clocked lifetime bests in the 50 free (21.94) and 100 free (47.90). He kicked off the 2026 long-course season with a PB in the 50 free (25.60) at the Sun Devil Open in May.
