Tough Road to the Top for Zach McGinnis

As a senior in high school, Zach McGinnis was a solid :51.5 in the 100 yard back and 1:50.4 in the 200 back. Now a senior at Virginia Tech he holds the school record in the 200 back with a 1:42.5 and has the fastest 100 back in the country so far this season with a 47.0. Even more impressive he had to overcome two shoulder surgeries in high school and is now battling bouts of epilepsy. Not many people can overcome that kind of adversity and still find themselves in the mix for an NCAA title. The best thing about Zach, he’s not satisfied just being in the mix…
