Wang Lizhuo Lowers Another Breaststroke Jr World Record At Chinese Nationals

After breaking the junior world record yesterday in the men’s 100 breaststroke, Wang Lizhuo has lowered another junior world record with an impressive 27.52 in the men’s 50 breaststroke at the 2015 Chinese Fall National Championships.

Wang has burst onto the scene as one of the top junior breaststrokers in the world, becoming the first junior swimmer to break one minute barrier in the 100. Today he broke his second junior world record of the meet during the prelims of the men’s 50 breaststroke.

He broke Peter John Stevens’ (SLO) record from the 2013 FINA Jr World Championships of 27.74 with his time of 27.52. He later won the event during finals, but was unable to lower the record again, finishing first with his time of 27.59.

Another big swim came from Li Zhuhao in the men’s 100 butterfly. After breaking the junior world record in the 200 butterfly earlier in the meet, he narrowly missed his own Jr World Record of 51.33 in the 100 fly with his winning time of 51.45.
