UCLA Adds 2 More with Commitments from Foster, Lathrop

The UCLA Bruins have added another pair of swimmers to their recruiting class, as Jennifer Lathrop and Lia Foster have signed their national letters of intent to join the team next season. Foster will be making the move to UCLA from Hawaii, while Lathrop will be staying in state next season.

LIA FOSTER:

Foster’s current training base is with the Kamehameha Swim Club, and she also competes for Punahou High School during the high school season. Last season, she was a 2-time state champion at the 2016 Hawaii State Championships, winning gold in the 200 IM and 100 back. She also earned a pair of golds as a part of Punahou’s 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

Foster’s Top Times:

  • 100 fly- 56.57
  • 200 fly- 2:00.28
  • 100 back- 56.33
  • 200 back- 2:01.00
  • 200 IM- 2:04.75
  • 400 IM- 4:25.24

JENNIFER LATHROP:

Lathrop trains with the Sierra Marlins Swim Team and also competes for Oak Ridge High School. At the 2016 Futures Championships (Stanford) this past summer, she was a 2-time championship finalist. She earned medals in both backstrokes after becoming the 200 meter backstroke champion and placing 3rd in the 100 meter back.

  • 50 free- 25.07
  • 100 free- 53.86
