Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Weylin Foo, a current high school senior from Kailua Kona, Hawaii, has committed to swim for Division I University of Hawai’i at Manoa under head coach Elliot Ptasnik. Foo will graduate from Kealakehe High School in spring 2020 and join the Rainbow Warrior’s class of 2024.
Foo currently swims trains with Terrapins Swim Club. At the 2019 Hawaiian Swimming Age Group Long Course State Championships, Foo was the champion in the 200 LCM butterfly (2:08.54), 200 IM (2:12.29) and 100 butterfly (57.74). “I’m super happy to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Hawaii at Manoa to further my athletic and academic career. I’d like to thank my family, all the coaches from Terrapins Swim Club, all the coaches from the Kona Dolphins Swim Club, and everyone else who has helped me along the way! I can’t wait to attend and swim for Hawaii!”
This year at the 2020 MPSF Swimming and Diving Championships, Foo would have had multiple finals performances with his current best times. He would have placed 5th in the 200 butterfly (1:48.91) making him Hawaii’s 3rd fastest 200 butterflier at the meet.
