Defending Big Ten champs Michigan (men) and Minnesota (women) combined to take the brunt of the conference’s weekly awards, with Purdue earning the final nod.
Wisconsin’s Matt Hutchins was named Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Purdue’s Steele Johnson swept both the Diver of the Week and Freshman of the Week awards.
In second place after the morning preliminaries, Dumais took the lead after the fourth round of the semifinals with an 81.60-points inward 3 ½ tuck and followed up with 84 points on a reverse 3 ½ tuck and 90.10 points on a front 2 ½ with 2 twists.
Minnesota’s Kierra Smith was named the Big Ten Female Swimmer of the Week after hitting the conference’s first NCAA “A” cut of the season at the Minneapolis Grand Prix this past weekend.
Ivy Martin and Josh Fleagle were named Big Ten Swimmers of the Week for November 11th, while Rutgers picked up its first-ever Big Ten weekly honor.
