David Nolan elected not to swim the 200 IM after finishing 7th in the preliminaries of the 100 free this morning at the 2015 USA Summer Nationals in San Antonio, Texas.

Now that we have all witnessed the glory that is the Michael Phelps comeback trail, we can safely get psyched for his prelims swim in the 100 fly.
On Friday morning at U.S. Nationals, we’ll get our first look at Michael Phelps, who will swim the 200 fly prelims as the 8th seed. He’ll have to take on Jack Conger, the American record holder in yards, in his heat.

Interestingly, Phelps is entered as the 20th seed with a 2:15.46. The USA Swimming database only shows one result for Phelps in the 200 breast: a 2:18.79 from 2011.
With the recent addition of the 100 yard IM to the NCAA program (approved for inclusion at conference championship meets) it begs the question of who would have dominated this event if it had been introduced years prior.
David Nolan will be swimming his first LCM 400 IM in five years at the Santa Clara Pro Series this week.
