Sweden’s Sarah Sjöstrom rattled her own world record and came up with her 4th 55-second 100 fly swim in winning the 2016 European Championship in the event.

Sjöstrom went 55.89 to win the European title, still two tenths off her world record (a 55.64 from last summer’s World Championships in Kazan, Russia), but a tenth faster than anyone else in world history has ever swum the race.

The Swedish sprinter continues to build her resume on the way to the Rio Olympics, stacking the all-time records in the event with her own swims.

Sjöstrom now owns 6 of the fastest 7 swims in history in the women’s 100 fly, including 4 of the 5 sub-56s.

Where is Sjöström 56.12 from Euro semis? It should be ranked 9th all time.
