NEW YORK — The Columbia women’s swimming and diving team closed the regular season in emphatic fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth, 165-135, at Percy Uris Natatorium on Senior Day.
The senior class played a key role in the Senior Day victory, delivering strong performances throughout the meet in their final appearance at Uris. From sprint and stroke events to the relays, Columbia’s veterans helped build and maintain momentum as the Lions closed the regular season with an Ivy League win.
Columbia set the tone early in the pool, winning the opening 200 medley relay as the quartet of Shaelyn Shields, Ashley Hong, Ella Chan, and Sally Ma touched first in 1:41.75 to grab an early lead.
Ma had a great afternoon in her final regular season competition, winning the 50 freestyle (23.18) and finishing second in the 100 free (50.62). In the backstroke events, Shields picked up a victory in the 100 back (55.94) and added a runner-up finish in the 200 back, while Lorelai Page claimed first in the 200 back (1:59.14). Chan contributed key points across multiple events, including a second-place finish in the 100 fly.
The Lions continued to build separation in the butterfly events, led by Annabelle Kung’s runner-up finish in the 200 fly and third-place showing in the 100 fly. Hayley Reed and Sammy Segerson also placed inside the scoring positions to add depth across the lineup.
Columbia closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, as Ma, Isabel Lee, Chan, and Hutton Saunders touched in 3:25.65 to help secure the victory in the regular season finale.
On the boards, senior Chloe Leung capped her final home meet in dominant fashion, sweeping both diving events. NEW YORK — The Columbia men’s swimming and diving team closed the 2025-26 regular season in dominant fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth, 213-86, at Percy Uris Natatorium on Senior Day. In the final home and regular-season meet of the 2025–26 campaign, Columbia’s senior class helped set the tone early and powered a wire-to-wire conference victory.
“It’s always good to win, and especially on Senior Day,” Head Coach Jim Bolster said. “You want your seniors to walk away with a positive memory, and winning is about as positive as it gets. I thought we swam well enough across the board to get the result, and it was a great way for the seniors to finish their careers and for our team to close the regular season.”
Columbia opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, as the team of Isaac Beers, Beri Yang, Brian Lee, and Zion James touched first in 1:27.37 to establish an early advantage.

Seungjoon Ahn led a sweep of the top three spots in the 200 butterfly, winning in 1:47.22, while Brian Lee added another victory in the 100 fly (48.10).
Sprint success came from Zion James for one last time at Uris, who won the 50 freestyle in 19.86 and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay to close the meet. The relay squad of James, Sam Eckert, Kevin Obochi, and Adam Wu touched first in a pool record 1:18.72 to cap the Senior Day victory.
