The Auburn Tigers have announced their 2017-18 schedule.
A couple of changes were made to Auburn’s fall semester lineup. They won’t be racing in dual meets against Kentucky and against LSU, two meets that they had last fall. Two new SEC opponents have been added to the schedule, though, in Texas A&M and South Carolina.
Additionally, while they were separate dual meets last year, Auburn will host Tennessee along with B1G opponent Wisconsin over a two-day meet the weekend after their October 6th intrasquad meet.
The women and divers will head to the Georgia Tech Invitational in mid-November, while the men will race at the Georgia Invitational some two weeks later for mid-season suited action.
The spring semester will feature only two dual meets, but both are against premier NCAA powerhouses. They’ll battle Texas in Austin on January 8th, then face Florida in Gainesville on the 20th, before they head into championship season.
Auburn’s sprint group will be led by senior Peter Holoda on the men’s side and Julie Meynen on the women’s, with Holoda coming off of an impressive showing representing Hungary at the 2017 World Championships. The Auburn men will benefit from Spanish Olympian Hugo Gonzalez joining up as a freshman, while newcomers Carly Cummings and Jewels Harris are impactful additions on the women’s side.
