Reed Harris Verbally Commits to Join Sister at Xavier University

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Reed Harris of Saint Petersburg, Florida has announced his verbal commitment to Xavier University. Harris swims for Tampa Bay Aquatics as well as Saint Petersburg High School.

At the 2019 FHSAA (Florida High School) 3A State Championships last fall Harris was a finalist in the 100 back (52.78) and 200 IM (1:53.80), finishing 6th in both. Last spring, at the 2019 Auburn Classic, Harris won two events, finishing the 400 IM in a time of 4:02.36 and the 500 free in 4:37.03.

Top SCY Times

  • 200 free – 1:43.05
  • 500 free – 4:37.03
  • 100 back – 52.72
  • 200 IM – 1:53.80
  • 400 IM – 4:02.36

Xavier University emerged victorious last year at the Big East Conference Championship, pulling off a narrow victory over Georgetown University. With his best time Harris would have been less than a second off of qualifying for the A-final in the 400 IM. He would have scored in the B-final of the 200 free, 500 free, and 100 back as well. He will have one year of overlap with Cameron Weese, Xavier’s only A-finalist in the 400 IM last year.
