The eyes of the swimming world will make their way to Canada’s largest city, Toronto, as the World Aquatics World Cup series concludes it three city run. Over the course of the past two weeks, the world’s best have been doing battle with one another as they battle for medals, prize money and World Records.
Last weekend, despite the likes of Leon Marchand not appearing in the Entry Lists and Summer McIntosh revealing she would not be attending any of the meets, the stop in Westmont saw four World Records fall by the wayside as Regan Smith equaled her own mark in the 100 back and Mollie O’Callaghan smashed the 1:50 barrier in the 200 back. One night later, their compatriots Kate Douglass and Kaylee McKeown reset the marks in the 100 free and 200 back.
The quartet along with Gretchen Walsh, who was the lone World Record breaker from the first stop in Carmel, all appear in the Entry Lists for Toronto, which will be sure to make for a thrilling conclusion.
Toronto Pre-Scratch Entry Lists
With the trip up north, the Entry Lists see a massive influx of Canadian club swimmers into the psych sheet as the US club swimmers depart. While the likes of Bella Sims and Van Mathias do not appear on the entry lists, some of Canada’s strongest swimmers join the tour as Javier Acevedo, Alexanne Lepage and Sydney Pickrem all look set to make an appearance. Pickrem, a three-time Olympian for Canada, doesn’t appear to have posted a result since this summer’s Mare-Nostrum tour, and appears entered in the 50/100 breast as well as the 100 IM.
While McIntosh’s withdrawal will be a loss for the Canadian audience, double 2024 Olympic medalist Ilya Kharun will a huge draw, especially as he looks to consolidate his dominance in the 50 and 200 fly, by winning the triple crown. The ASU star will along with compatriot Josh Liendo looking to do their best and prevent Switzerland’s Noe Ponti from completing the 100 fly triple, and thus earning a crown buster bonus. Some of Canada’s up and comer’s will be looking to make themselves household names as the trio of 2026 Tennessee commits, Matea Gigovic, Madison Kryger and Leah Tigert all look to post fast swims as too does 2026 Texas commit Laon Kim.
Hungary’s Hubert Kos will be looking to complete the triple-triple crown, the only swimmer able to do so as he so far dominated the men’s backstroke events sweeping the 50-100-200 in both Carmel and Westmont. It’s not a shoe-in however as Kacper Stokowski and Thomas Ceccon were just .01 and .03 back last weekend in the 50.
Of course there are others capable of winning multiple crowns as Walsh and Douglass have too won multiple events with their events spread across multiple strokes. Walsh has the 50/100 fly and 100 IM at each of the two previous stops while her teammate, Douglass, has so far climbed to the top of the podium in the 100/200 breaststroke and 100 free.

Ilya and Kaylee both doubling the 50 and 200 without winning the 100! Weird times.
Same energy as 2013 Barcelona World Championship where Julia Efimova won 50 and 200 breast, but not 100.
After twice missing out on the money, I am surprised relay names guy is still commenting.
After twice landing in the money, I am disappointed that Anna Peplowski will not compete at the Toronto stop.
After twice missing out on the money, rumor has it that Bella Sims hitchhiked back to Ann Arbor, MI.
