In high school, he swam in Chicago area, for YWCA Flying Fish, and he has had nice drops since being in college at the University of Minnesota, going from 15:21 to 14:52 in the 1650 (14th seed for NCAAs) and from 4:26 to 4:20 in the 500…so far.
