FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The host Nova Southeastern Sharks wrapped up Day Two of their Tri-Meet with Lynn University and Florida International on Saturday morning. The women were victorious in the final tally, defeating FIU 202-189 and defeating Lynn 241-150. The men fell to Lynn 249.5-150.5.

  • Roland Nagy won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.47.
  • Javier Colmenares (4:10.72) won the 400 yard individual medley, with teammates Eason Cormack (4:12.81) and Nicko Peristeridis (4:14.78) finishing second and third, respectively.
  • Colmenares also finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke (57.64).
  • Gabe Rzezwicki finished second in the 100 yard butterfly (51.94).
  • Tres IzquierdoGavin LindleyJoshua Parry and Rzezwicki’s group finished second in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:24.02) to round out the meet.

The Sharks will travel to Queens University in Charlotte, NC for the Fall Frenzy being held from November 20th through November 23rd.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Lynn University men’s and women’s swim teams delivered a commanding two-day performance at the NSU Duals, highlighted by a dominant showing from the men, who defeated Nova Southeastern 249.5–141.5. The women battled through a challenging slate, falling to both Nova Southeastern 241–150 and Florida International 252–139, but still produced numerous standout swims and relay podiums. Across the weekend, the Fighting Knights combined early relay momentum with decisive individual performances, led by major contributions from Mariele De SantisLydia DouthitLuz TapiaVitaly KostinMaurice Grabowski, and Max Tsyfarov among others, as well as strong relay units on both sides.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
Friday Night:
– De Santis and Douthit delivered a huge 1–2 punch in the 200 butterfly, posting 2:03s to dominate the event
– Tapia led the sprints, finishing 2nd in the 200 free (1:53.86) and placing top-five in the 50 free (24.17)
– Eva Stacey led the way in the 500 Freestyle with a strong runner-up finish in 5:06.15, just behind NSU’s winner
– Ala Piascinska added a 3rd-place showing in the 100 backstroke (57.93)
– The A-relay of Piascinska, Malaika Schneider, Douthit, and Lily Drons grabbed 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay (1:43.90), giving Lynn an early boost
– The 400 free relay A-team took 3rd to close the night (Tapia, Drons, Krystina Zavalaga, Schneider)

Saturday Morning:
– The women’s 400 medley relay team of Piascinska, Schneider, Douthit, and Tapia opened the session with a strong 3rd-place finish (3:53.14)
– Piascinska led the women’s individual events with a 2nd-place finish in the 50 backstroke (26.93)
– Schneider added a key result for Lynn in the 100 breaststroke, placing 4th in 1:05.44
– De Santis took first in the 200 back with a finals time of 2:04.06
– Douthit claimed runner up in the 100 butterfly (22.86) to close out her run at the meet
– De Santis placed second in the 400 individual medley, finishing in 4:33.27
– The A-team of Schneider, Drons, Zavalaga and Tapia finished third in the 200 free relay (1:36.66) to close out the meet on Saturday

HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
Friday Night:
– Lynn opened with a statement win in the 200 medley relay (Paul Melcer, Tsyfarov, Grabowski, Enzo Constable) at 1:29.00
– Kostin swept the mid-distance with wins in the 500 free (4:35.37) and 200 free (1:38.60)
– Lynn dominated the 200 free, taking the top five spots (Kostin, Eli SpivakEfe GulerEmre SungurBrayden Moore)
– Grabowski won both the 50 free (20.45) and 50 fly (21.21)
– Tsyfarov claimed victories in the 50 breast (25.67) and led a strong 200 breast group
– Melcer added wins in the 100 back (50.25) and split 21.6 on relay duty
– The 400 free relay A-team took the win to finish the session (Kostin, Moore, Jack Budd, Constable)  (3:02.32)

Saturday Morning:
– The collective of Melcer, Tsyfarov, Kostin and Constable claimed another win to open the second day of competition in the 400 medley relay (3:21.03)
– Kostin kicked off his individual run on Saturday with a win in the 100 IM (50.62) for a new school record
–  In the distance events, Guler powered to a win in the 1000 freestyle (9:29.73) with teammates close behind
– Lynn swept the 50 backstroke, with Grabowski, Melcer, and Xavier Washington taking the top three spots to start the men’s session with authority
– Tsyfarov dominated the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breast on Saturday (56.80)
– Grabowski (45.34) and Constable (45.75) took first and second in the 100 free to keep the pace up
– Washington (1:52.48) took third in the 200 backstroke while Kamil Geisner followed close behind (1:54.28)
– Kostin claimed another victory, this time in the 100 fly, blowing the competition out of the water with a time of 47.81
– The Lynn relay team of Constable, Moore, Hobbs and Grabowski closed the meet with a statement win in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:21.10

The Lynn swim teams will make the trip to Indianapolis on Nov. 20-22 to compete in the House of Champions meet hosted by IU Indy.

DAVIE, Fla. – The FIU swimming and diving program wrapped up a successful weekend of competition, as the swimming team split results in its tri-meet against Nova Southeastern and Lynn, while the diving squad dominated at the South Florida Diving Invitational.

The Panthers fell to NSU in a close 202-189 decision but cruised past Lynn with a 252-139 victory in their final meet before heading to the midseason Mizzou Invite. Across the two days, FIU recorded 21 top-three finishes, including 11 event wins.

Freshman Pauline Zeller continued her stellar rookie campaign, collecting five first-place finishes. She captured wins in the 50 backstroke (25.83), 100 backstroke (55.56), and 100 butterfly (54.27), while also helping lead FIU to victories in both the 200 medley relay (1:40.47) alongside Frida Stretre Løbersli, Tawannah McLemore, and Diana Santamaria, and the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.13) with Olivia Matson, McLemore, and Santamaria.

Her 400 freestyle relay squad — featuring Ana Luiza Daisson, Matson, and Santamaria — also clocked a winning time of 3:27.88.

Senior Nicole Frank earned a pair of individual victories, taking first in the 200 IM (2:05.75) and 400 IM (4:24.21), while Santamaria added second-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (23.85) and 100 freestyle (51.51).

The 400 medley relay team of Ingrid Huszar, Luiza Daisson, McLemore, and Santamaria also finished first (3:46.77). McLemore added two individual wins in the 50 butterfly (25.14) and 100 IM (57.49).

Stretre Løbersli grabbed a first-place finish in the 50 breaststroke (28.78) and took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.99), while Sally Olsson (2:20.41) and Huszar (2:21.92) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke.

Freshman Faustine Mercier placed third in the 50 butterfly (26.03), while Claudia Frasca finished second in the 100 backstroke (57.68) and fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:06.48). Carla Mailharrou earned third in the same event (2:06.15).

On the diving side, FIU swept the platform event, led by Kristina Keenan, who won with a score of 257.75 — earning an NCAA Zone cut. Brooke Megdall placed second (235.60), also with a zone cut, while Ruska Lehtonen finished third (218.70) and Sydney Soto took fifth (203.95).

Lehtonen also set a personal best in the 1-meter with a zone cut mark of 281.55, followed by Keenan in second (276.60) and freshman Sofia Torstensson in sixth (236.10).

In the 3-meter, Megdall claimed the win with a score of 275.90, while Soto earned a personal-best third-place finish (266.35) and Torstensson placed fifth (258.10).

FIU gets set for the Mizzou Invite from Thursday, Nov. 20 – Saturday, Nov. 22 in Columbia, Missouri.
