Nash Hawkins Crushes Zac Stubblety-Cook’s Aussie Age Record In 200 Breast

2026 Australian Age Championships

Records continued to fall on day five of the 2026 Australian Age Championships, where the nation’s budding stars took center stage at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.

13-year-old Nash Hawkins joined the party by firing off a new lifetime best and Age Record en route to taking his age category’s 200m breaststroke gold medal.

Hawkins stopped the clock at a rapid time of 2:23.05, a mark which obliterated the former Age Record and All Comers Record that had been on the books since 2012.

That former effort stood at the 2:24.83 Olympic champion and former world record holder Zac Stubblety-Cook previously held.

Tonight, Hawkins split 32.84/37.14 (1:09.98)/36.94/36.13 to get the job done, handily defeating his rivals.

Stingrays swimmer Sunny Kito was next to the wall in 2:26.94 followed by Liam Chang  who rounded out the podium in 2:30.98.

Entering this competition, Hawkins’ lifetime best in this 2breast event rested at the 2:29.69 logged just this past February. That means the teen hacked nearly 5 seconds off that result to throw down this new PB.
