Michigan Wolverines to Face Six B1G Opponents in 2017-18

The Michigan Wolverines have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season.

Kicking off with the Michigan Water Carnival at the Canham Natatorium, the women will travel to the state of Texas for the SMU Classic, an invite that they won last year by merely one point over Louisville. The following weekend, both squads will head south from Ann Arbor to take on that very Louisville squad for a match-up with the ACC-based Cardinals.

The Alumni meet will take place on October 28th, while Nov. 3-4 will be a quad meet featuring Big Ten foes Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Penn State in Minneapolis. The Wolverines will compete at the Georgia Invitational before taking their winter break.

Big Ten opponents will be waiting for UMich after the break, as they’ll battle Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan State in back-to-back-to-back weekend action, before they prep for championship season.

While the Michigan men are in rebuilding mode, the women have SwimSwam’s #2 ranked batch of newcomers on top of an already very strong squad. Look for Miranda Tucker to lead the Wolverines this year as one of the best breaststrokers in the nation, while the flurry of freestylers led by Siobhan HaugheyG Ryan, and Catie and Gabby Deloof will team up for another big season in Ann Arbor.

The schedule listed below is the men’s– the women’s is the same, save for their attending the SMU Classic on October 13-14, along with their Big Tens and NCAAs occurring a week prior to the respective men’s meets and in Columbus, OH, rather than Minneapolis.
