Michigan State Finalist Diver Taylor Seibert Commits to Mckendree

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Taylor Siebert, a diver from Michigan, has announced her commitment to continue her academic and diving careers at McKendree University beginning this fall. Siebert hails from Plainwell, Michigan, the same hometown as World Championships qualifier Mallory Comerford.

“I am excited to dive with McKendree University.  I love the coach and can’t wait to be a Bearcat!”

Siebert trains and competes with Plainwell High School and West Michigan Dive Academy. She has won state honors all four years of high school, and been a conference champion twice. Siebert has also earned a spot at the USA Diving Zone meet four years in a row.

Siebert’s Best Diving Scores:

  • 1-Meter: 436.23 points
  • 3-Meter: 269.30 points

Siebert competed at the 2021 MHSAA Division 3 (smaller schools) State Championships in the 1-meter event. She finished 2nd in the prelims round, advancing to semifinals where she was sitting 4th. In the finals, she maintained 4th place and finished with 405.5 points.

McKendree University is a Division II program located in Lebanon, Illinois. They compete as part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). At the 2022 Conference Championships, the McKendree women finished 4th of 9 teams behind Drury, Indianapolis, and Lindenwood.

The Bearcats had three divers in both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. In the 1-meter, they finished 3rd, 5th, and 9th. In the 3-meter, they came in 4th, 5th, and 9th. Siebert’s personal-best dive score in the 1-meter event would have placed 3rd at GLVCs, just ahead of McKendree’s top scorer, sophomore Regan Gubera.

Of McKendree’s three divers last year, they had one sophomore, one junior, and one senior. The loss of senior Lilia De Oliveira Pelaez and the addition of Siebert will keep the size of the diving team at three athletes next season. Siebert will contribute to this program in a huge way, especially if she can improve at the 3-meter.
