Michael Andrew on World Cup: “I’m excited to use this to… get back into work”

2025 WORLD AQUATICS SWIMMING WORLD CUP – Westmont

***Sorry for the audio quality, we made a technical error when capturing some of them***

In Westmont, Olympic champion Michael Andrew made his first final of the World Cup circuit, finishing 7th in the 50 breast. Andrew has been using the fall to focus on the more fun sides of swimming, earning money through clinics and talks, as well as taking a training trip with some ASU teammates to Hawaii.

Andrew admits he hasn’t been very fast throughout the World Cup so far, but he knows why and is hoping this constant racing will jumpstart a more serious block of training for him.

HOW TO WATCH THE WORLD AQUATICS WORLD CUP

A comprehensive look at television and streaming options for the meet can be found here.

U.S. viewers can watch both prelims and finals on the USA Swimming Network and Peacock, Canadians can stream every session on CBC, and the source for the majority of European nations will be the Eurovision Sport platform.

The competition will also be streamed live and on-demand with the World Aquatics Recast channel. A three-day pass requires 590 credits, which costs $8.26 USD.

People act like they wouldn’t live Michael Andrew’s lifestyle if they had the chance to just because they want to hate on him. He may not be in his prime anymore, but he still made a World Championship team this summer, gets to travel all over the country/world through swimming, and seems to enjoy doing what he does. Sounds like fun to me

Algebra is a building block for both logic and objectivity.

Just a theory, but I believe that there is a correlation between the inability to do algebra and open displays of hatred and anger.
I wish Michael the best.

Now down vote me if you can’t do algebra.

Obviously.

First of all, he’s never gone 57 in LCM 100 breast. Ever.

Second, he hasn’t gone anywhere near 58 in LCM 100 breast since he went 58.96 in Budapest (June 2022).

Michael has seen his best performances behind him. He has lost his grit. Can he comeback- maybe a “B” relay team!

Andrew’s only chance for LA is if he specializes in breaststroke and has some proper coaching in this discipline. He won’t make the team in any other event in my opinion, and may not make it in breaststroke either depending on what other rising breaststrokers do.
