Longhorn Aquatics’ Sadie Runeman Stays Local, Verbals to Texas for 2021

Longhorn Aquatics’ Sadie Runeman is staying in Austin with a verbal commitment to join Texas in fall of 2021. She moved to Austin last year from New England, and she’s a rising senior at Westwood High School.

Runeman is primarily a backstroker, though she has shown promise in breaststroke, mid-distance free and IM.

At the 2020 Texas 6A State Championships, swimming for Westwood, Runeman clocked a fifth-place finish in the 100 back (55.81). She also finished 12th in the 200 IM (2:04.94) and split 23.65 on Westwood’s title-earning 200 free relay.

Runeman joins the talented class of 2025 for Texas, which includes Channing Hanley, Ava CollingeEllie AndrewsJordan MorganMorgan BrophyOlivia McMurray, and Riley Courtney.
