After not being very satisfied with her first two races of the World Cup stop in Westmont, Kate Douglass came into the final day of competition on a mission. After seeing her friends break world records left and right, Douglass wanted to put together a race she was proud of as well. The UVA grad did just that, swimming 50.19 to break the 7-year-old world record in the 100 free.
HOW TO WATCH THE WORLD AQUATICS WORLD CUP
A comprehensive look at television and streaming options for the meet can be found here.
U.S. viewers can watch both prelims and finals on the USA Swimming Network and Peacock, Canadians can stream every session on CBC, and the source for the majority of European nations will be the Eurovision Sport platform.
The competition will also be streamed live and on-demand with the World Aquatics Recast channel. A three-day pass requires 590 credits, which costs $8.26 USD.

Would love to see her as the first 49 performer
KD is the most Jordan-esque active swimmer.
Behind the megawatt smile is a ruthless, unrelenting, insatiable competitor.
Pressure = Fuel
She calculated that she needed to drop WRs in the 100 free at the World Cups for a chance to beat GW….
so drop a WR she did with one stop pending.
Game On…..
Jordan comparison is appropriate because Kate and all the other women who wore Bulls uniforms the other day during shoot around fun ended up breaking or tying a world record.
Kate was the last one to do so, and in her final opportunity. The other three were Regan, Kaylee and Mollie:

It’s almost like the 4 women that did the Chicago Bulls visit … were also all current World Record holders and/or Olympic gold medalists
In another post race interview, Alex Walsh contemplating the 400 IM with great reluctance at the Toronto stop.
Kate Douglass will need to pull an upset in the W 100 IM at the Toronto stop to definitely win the overall title. Otherwise, Kate Douglass will most likely need to post a personal best time in the W 100 BR to keep it close.
I really hate agreeing with relay-names-guy
I really wonder how fast this would be in SCY — the two swimswam converters put it at 45.2 and 45.4 which seem reasonable, but the fact that Gretchen in seemingly top form was 50.3 suggests that it would be faster
Swimswam converter usually gives more advantage to SCY, and I think 45.0 is about right.
Remember that Gretchen SCY is clearly faster than her SCM just because underwater portion is bigger.
Loved the interview!
she can do it all
