Jimenez Trejo, Hunt Highlight The 2017 Abu Dhabi High Diving World Cup

The 2017 High Diving World Cup in Abu Dhabi took place this weekend following the press conference announcement that FINA has requested that the IOC include high diving in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The events that took place in Abu Dhabi over the two day event were the women’s 20m high diving competition and for the men the 27 meter event.

For the women, Rita Jimenez Trejo took gold, winning with 316.45 points. Just behind Jimenez Trejo was Rhiannan Iffland. The Australian diver took silver in 312.80. Rounding out the top three was Yana Nestsiarava who finished with 296.80 points.

Ginger Huber was the top USA finisher, coming in 4th just .5 behind Nestsiarava at 296.30.

On the men’s side Gary Hunt won the 27 meter event with 443.40 points. Finishing in a distant second was USA diver Steve LoBue with 405.30 and taking home the bronze was Michal Navratil with 381.95.

Notably, Jonathan Paredes Bernal and Orlando Duque finished 4th and 6th respectively. They totaled 381.00 and 350.90.
