Video Interview: Jessica Long Talks About Para Pan Pacs, Training at NBAC

Jessica Long joined Mallory Weggemann following Day 4 of finals at the Pan Pacific Para-Swimming Championships to discuss her races throughout the week, training with Bob Bowman at North Baltimore and meeting her biological parents for the first time this past winter in Sochi.

So far this week Long has picked up three gold medals: SM8 200 IM and S8 100 fly and 400 free.

Agreed, L.O., Jessica continues to be a great rep for the sport and is engaging and magnetic. Imagine the focus required to maintain your elite athleticism in the midst of an intense personal saga like meeting your biologicals and discovering your origin story.

And again going on record as a huge Bob fan: more testimony here for his superlative coaching. There was a thread on one of the Nationals recap articles suggesting that NBAC was underperforming (false) because Bob was too focused on Michael’s comeback. This sure counters that. I’d argue exhibits B, C, D and E are Runge, Dwyer, Mann and McLean.
