Hubi Kos Surprised Even Himself in the 100 Back: “42.6 is Crazy”

2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships

After surprising everyone in the NCAA with a 42.5 100y fly, he surprised himself the next day. After breaking his own NCAA record in the 100 back in prelims, going 43.08, he dropped a massive 42.61 in finals. Hubi admitted after his race that while he thought he could go a 42-something, he did not see 42.6 happening last night.

His father Nick only moved to Hungary in 1994 and here started to learn Hungarian. At home in Cork they used only English. Part of the family lives in Dublin at the moment, too. So when the children born they mostly spoke English at first.
And the school.

And Happy Birthday Hubi.
