HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program posted a second-place finish at the Rice Fall Splash and defended its home turf by winning the Houston Diving Invitational on Saturday.

At the Houston Diving Invitational, junior Hedda Grelz topped the leaderboard in the platform competition scoring 221.90. Katie Deininger (216.15), Alexa Massari (204.50), Emilia Waters (204.00) and Josie Graves (202.85) finished the meet behind Grelz in second through fifth.

Rice Fall Splash Swimming Recap:

Across the city at the Rice Fall Splash, the Cougars posted a team score of 308 points to take second, behind first-place Rice with 391 points. Incarnate Word placed third with 115 points.

The Cougars swept the 200-yard breaststroke, as Sophie AndersonVirag Peter and Audrey McKinnon took the top-three spots. Anderson won the event for Houston with a time of 2:18.88. Peter clocked in at 2:18.93 for second-place, followed by McKinnon in third-place with a time of 2:19.46.

UP NEXT
The Cougars return to the CRWC Natatorium to host their first dual meet of the season on Saturday, Nov. 5 against American Athletic Conference rival Tulane. Fans can attend the meet free of charge with no student claim necessary.
