Georgia Southern Swimming & Diving Signs Eight in Early Signing Period

STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Swimming & Diving Head Coach Nate Kellogg has announced the signing of eight additions for the 2016-17 season to National Letters of Intent (NLI). The signing class inked their names in the early signing period and will join the Eagles next fall.

Elizabeth Chemey

“We are elated to have Elizabeth join our program,” said Coach Kellogg. “Coming in, she has the ability to make a significant impact on our program. Her best swimming is undoubtedly ahead of her. Elizabeth is a terrific young woman with an outstanding work ethic and attitude, which fit well with our team and Georgia Southern University.”

“Ashley is a welcomed addition to this class and our team,” said Kellogg. “She has a great personality that is a natural fit for our team and Georgia Southern University. We believe Ashley has not begun to reach her full potential and are excited to explore those limits as an Eagle.”

“Bri is an awesome addition to our program,” said Coach Kellogg. “She will contribute and add depth in both butterfly events. Bri has a great deal of potential and we expect to see a lot of improvement by the time she steps on campus next fall.”

“We are excited that Gretchen has chosen to be an Eagle! Gretchen is a former gymnast turned diver,” said Coach Kellogg. “With her talent, we expect her to challenge to be one of the top divers in the conference. We are extremely happy to welcome Gretchen to the Eagle family!”

“We are ecstatic that Madie has decided to become an Eagle! She is an outstanding fit for our program and Georgia Southern University,” said Coach Kellogg. “Madie has made major steps forward over the last two years and I believe her focus and commitment to continue to improve will be an asset to our team for years to come.”

Georgia Southern returns to the waters to continue the 2015-16 season on Jan. 9, 2016 at UNC Asheville for a swimming dual meet against the Bulldogs and a diving dual meet against Clemson.
