2016 50 Free Olympic Champion, Anthony Ervin, took first in that same event tonight in Geneva, Switzerland. He posted a 22.87, the only sub-23 performance of the night, touching ahead of 2nd place Matheus Santana of Brazil. The 20-year-old Santana recently announced his move to the U.S. to train with SwimMAC Carolina, a club that was well-represented at this meet.

SwimMAC women Madison Kennedy and Katie Meili each swam one last race of the meet, with the former getting an easy win in the 50 free. Kennedy touched at 25.29, well ahead of 2nd place Andi Murez (25.92) of Israel. Meili, meanwhile, slipped under 1:10 for a 1:09.89 in the 100 breast– that earned her 2nd behind Martina Moravcikova (1:09.88) of the Czech Republic.

Hungarian star Laszlo Cseh chalked up another win, too, taking top honors in the 200 fly. His 1:59.64 gave him the win by nearly two seconds, and also completed his sweep of the butterfly races this weekend. Cseh won the 50 fly (24.10) and the 100 fly (53.56) on Saturday and Friday, respectively.

Four meet records were taken down tonight, as well; two coming at the hands of Scottish teenagers. Keanna Macinnes (born in 2001) went a 2:15.00 in the women’s 17 & under 200 fly, taking down the 17&u meet record and going the fastest time of any age group. Cassie Wild-Richards (born in 2000) went a 1:02.27 in the 100 back, the fastest of any competitor, to take down the 17&u meet record in that event. Israel’s Denis Loktev (born in 2000) posted a 1:51.53 to break the 17&u 200 free record and swim the quickest time of any age. Finally, in the 100 back senior division, Yakov-yan Toumarkin (55.21) broke the 18&u meet record.
