NCAA Champion and Team USA member Destin Lasco took on a massive schedule at the Swim Open Stockholm, racing in 5 events and swimming prelims and finals of all of them. While none of his times were eye-popping, Lasco was proud of his achievement, saying he hadn’t had a LCM schedule like that since he was 16. A member of the Pan Pacific Championships roster for Team USA, Lasco is looking to find his identity in more than just the 100 free, which has been a focus for him the last 3 summers.
The former Cal bear also discusses currently living and training in his home of Philadelphia while working part-time in private equity.

Last time he did this many events was probably when he did the 1500 at LC MA Senior Champs and whooped me lol
Great job, Destin. Always a class act and standout representative of Cal and Team USA.
It will be interesting to see what event he will swim in addition to the 100 free at Pan Pacs. His LCM PB in 100, 200 back and 200 IM are almost 3 years ago at 2023 Nationals, while he swam a PB in 200 free last year.
Hope they do some more meets while in Europe, do not know which meets might have prize money. Most of it is probably not that big, but something is better than nothing.
He’s a babe.
Considering he was originally supposed to be a 200 backstroker, that should be true.
Ironically, upon digging back in time a little bit I noticed that his most impressive swim before college was in the LCM 100 free. He went 49.4 at 2018 nationals as a 16 year old
lol fr ofc hes more than a 100 freestyler! i actually think of him more so as a versatile backstroker who has a good 100 free like ceccon or coetze. we need him back in the 100 / 200 back!
What’s there not to like about this guy?
