Columbia Women’s Swimming Welcomes 10 Newcomers

NEW YORK — With the new semester upon us, the Columbia women’s swimming and diving team has added a crop of 10 newcomers to the roster for the 2019-20 season. The class includes eight swimmers, Isabelle Arevalo, Isabella Fratesi, Olivia Jubin, Tina Le, Karen Liu, Kaleigh McGrady, Jessica Peng and Jing Tan, and two divers, Livy Poulin and Olivia Ricard.

“We are really excited to welcome the class of ’23,” said Columbia head coach Diana Caskey. “It is a very well-rounded group, many of whom have solid versatility. It will be exciting to see them start to impact the program in training and competition!”

“We are thrilled to have Livy and Olivia joining us,” said diving coach Scott Donie “They are a great addition to this team with great abilities and infectious enthusiasm.”

Isabelle Arevalo
Spring Valley, N.Y. – Immaculate Heart Academy

Isabella Fratesi

Olivia Jubin
Alexandria, Va. – Holton-Arms School

Six-time NISCA All-American … 2019 Washington Post All-Met second team … 2018 Washington Post All-Met honorable mention … Named Holton-Arms’ MVP in 2016, 2018 and 2019 … Helped Holton-Arms to three-straight WMPSSDL and ISL championships … Part of 2019 METROS championship team … Set a new school record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.40 to win the 2019 WMPSSDL title … Won both the 50 free (24.08) and 200 free (1:49.18) at 2019 ISL Championships … Graduated Cum Laude … Daughter of Gregg Jubin and Cristina Aragona … Follows in the footsteps of sister Isabelle Jubin ’20CC, who is also a member of the Columbia women’s swimming team … Undecided on a major … Enrolled in Columbia College.

Tina Le

Karen Liu
Hong Kong – The Community School of Naples (Fla.)

A 2018 graduate of the Community School of Naples … Four-year letter winner for the Seahawks …  2017-18 NISCA All-American … Finished fourth in the 200 IM (2:02.00) and fifth in the 500 free (4:56.81) at the 2017 FHSAA 1A State Championships after earning regional and district titles in both events … Four-time state finalist in the 200 IM … 2017 Naples Daily News Girls Swimmer/Diver of the Year finalist … Swam with Hoi Tin Swimming Association since 2009 … Hong Kong national team member since 2010 … Daughter of Chit Wong and Liu Fam Lam … Has one older sister, Vivian … Plans to study human rights and economics … Enrolled in Columbia College.

Kaleigh McGrady

Jessica Peng
College Station, Texas – A&M Consolidated

Livy Poulin
Concord, Mass. – Concord-Carlisle
