Charlotte Davis Sets Three Records At USMS Masters Nationals — Day 3 Recap

2025 U.S. Masters Summer National Championships

It was the Charlotte Davis show on the third day of the 2025 Masters Summer Nationals in Federal Way, Washington on Friday.

(AQUA Masters world records can only be set at meets sanctioned by a World Aquatics member federation or organized by World Aquatics. USMS national records are recognized separately.)

Davis, a 75-year-old swimming for Puget Sound Masters, won three events in the women’s 75-79 age group, setting records in all three.

Most notably, Davis set an AQUA Masters and USMS world record in the 400 freestyle, clocking a time of 5:53.72.

Davis also won the 50 breaststroke in a USMS record time of 46.54, and won the 50 freestyle by clocking a USMS record time of 32.96.

This followed up Thursday’s second day when Davis won the 100 free in an AQUA Masters and USMS world record time of 1:13.13.

Also shining again was 36-year-old Brandon Fischer of Trip Valley Aquatics.

Fischer set a men’s 35-39 USMS record in the 50 breast, winning that event in a time of 28.32.

It followed a performance from Thursday that saw Fischer earn an AQUA Masters world record in the 200 breast in a time of 2:16.38.

Other individual standouts from Friday’s third day of action were:

  • Robert Wright of MOVY Masters set a men’s 75-79 AQUA Masters world record and USMS record in the 50 breast, coming in with a time of 37.05.
  • Cecilia McClosky of Swim Fort Lauderdale set a women’s 75-79 AQUA Masters world and USMS record in the 100 backstroke, coming in with a time of 1:24.20.
  • Linda Webb of Swim Fort Lauderdale set a women’s 80-84 USMS record in the 400 freestyle, coming in with a time of 7:21.46.
