It was a big splash up the all-time rankings at the Great American Splash for 16-year-old Robbie Rosenbaum.
Swimming for Barrington Swim Club, Rosenbaum set personal bests in three events.
Rosenbaum captured titles in the 100 back (56.14) and 200 back (2:05.05), and also set a personal best in the 200 free (1:57.65) to finish 4th.
In the process, Rosenbaum moved to 39th all-time in the 100 back for the boys’ 15-16 age group. In the boys’ 15-16 age group this season, he is third in the 100 back and 15th in the 200 back.
HIs previous personal bests were 56.76 in the 100 back, 2:06.45 in the 200 back and 1:58.40 in the 200 free.
Other notable standouts were:
- Luke Vatev, a 17-year-old for Hornet Swim Club who has committed to Stanford, claimed titles in the boys’ 100 free (50.96) and 200 free (1:51.26). His personal best time in the 100 free is 50.02, while his personal best in the 200 free is 1:50.82, both set last summer.
- On the girls’ side, 15-year-old Nicole Sun of FMC Aquatic Club set personal bests to win the 100 breast (1:14.72) and the 200 breast (2:40.26). Sun shattered her previous personal best of 2:50.84 in the 200 breast by clocking a time of 2:43.80 in prelims, and then bettered that by more than three seconds in the final. Her previous best in the 100 breast was 1:16.84.
- Norah Djoko Moyo, an 11-year-old for FMC Aquatic Club, set personal bests to win the girls’ 100 free (1:09.71), 50 breast (39.10), 50 fly (34.77) and 100 fly (1:19.32). She also won the 100 breast in a time of 1:27.57.
- Lincoln Andrlik, a 13-year-old for Maverick Swim Club, won five boys’ events in personal best times, claiming the 50 free (25.63), 100 free (56.55), 200 free (2:02.74), 100 fly (1:01.78) and 200 fly (2:18.46).
- Elsa LaPean, a 13-year-old for Ozaukee Aquatics, won the girls’ 100 free (59.72) and 100 back (1:08.40) in personal best times. She also was 2nd in the 200 back with a time of 2:33.83.
