BOSTON – The Boston University women’s swim & dive team defeated Holy Cross, 190-74, in the team’s first-half finale on Saturday afternoon at FitRec Competition Pool.

Freshman Haley Newman had the top time in three events (100 IM, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly) while sophomore Sasha Ramey claimed wins in the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM. Junior Sumi Cameron swept the diving events with scores of 289.80 (1-meter) and 312.37 (3-meter).

Freshman Stella Langenbach won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.82 while junior Lara Mitchell (26.85) and junior Clarissa Hoyt (30.51) won the 50-yard freestyle and breaststroke, respectively. Sophomore Fia McCarty touched the wall first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.53) and classmate Keilah Eckhart took first in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:17.59 while junior Sydney Sorbello had a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.52).

BU improves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in Patriot League competition.

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s swimming & diving team closed out the first half of its season with a 186-76 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at the FitRec Competition Pool.

Sophomore Dolan Grisbaum had the top time in three events (200 IM – 1:59.39, 200 freestyle – 1:46.28, 500 freestyle – 4:49.89) to pace the Terriers. Seniors Kyle Falkstrom swept the two breaststroke events with a time of 26.19 in the 50 and a 2:06.27 in the 200 and classmate Jacob Linder each took first in both the 50- (21.16) and 100-yard freestyle (46.83). Sophomore Lyde De Hooghe won both diving events, including an impressive score of 378.15 in the 3-meter event.

Senior Sarsen Whatmore finished first in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:54.47 and freshman Ben Cho took the top spot in the 50-yard butterfly (23.17)

Junior Justin Lee was first in the 100-yard IM (51.75) while classmate Adrien Pierce swam a 24.50 in the 50-yard freestyle to win that event.

BU improves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in Patriot League competition.

BOSTON, Mass – The Holy Cross women’s swimming and diving team fell to the Boston University Terriers 190-74 on Saturday.

Freshman Ainsley Nalen took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:05.42. Nalen placed second in the 200-yard freestyle touching the wall at 1:55.98.

Junior Greta Walting came in second during the 50-yard freestyle event (30.61), just a tenth of a second behind first place.

Junior Ayden Chanin took second in the 100-yard freestyle (54.87). She was followed by freshman Nora Smillie (57.72) and senior Cayce Patriarca (1:00.05) who captured third and fourth.

Holy Cross returns to action in 2023 when they face Colgate on Friday, Jan. 20 for a Patriot League contest at 11 a.m.

BOSTON, Mass – Charlie Nascimben broke the the 100IM school record against Boston University on Saturday. He touched the wall at 53.41 claiming fourth place. Nascimben took second in the 50-yard breaststroke (26.59) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.13).

The Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving team fell 186-76 to the Terriers.

Rory Hess and Brendan O’Brien owned standout performances in the 200-yard butterfly going one-two at the finish. Hess claimed a time of 1:56.74, followed by O’Brien with a time of 1:58.14.

Jack Greiner took second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.79. Alex Michael claimed second place in the 100-yard freestyle posting a time of 48.84.

Holy Cross returns to action in 2023 when they face Colgate on Friday, Jan. 20 for a Patriot League contest at 11 a.m.
