Derivaux has been on fire this week, swimming a 1:53.87 to win the 200 IM crown last night to record the #2 time in her age group, just half a second off Teagan O’dell’s NAG record. The Texas commit is coming off a successful summer where she won 3 golds and a silver at the World Junior Championships. The 400 IM was the only event she made a final in and did not medal, taking 4th in a time of 4:39.67.

Split Comparison:

54.23 (28.62) 54.73 (29.16)
1:24.09 (29.86) 1:25.08 (30.35)
1:53.09 (29.00) 1:54.06 (28.98)

4:01.83 (27.62) 4:03.31 (27.91)

There wasn’t a specific area that Derivaux improved upon in this swim compared to her previous best; rather, she was marginally faster on pretty much every leg, which allowed her to chip away at her old PB each 50.

Tomorrow, Derivaux is set to swim the tough 200 back/200 fly double—both events that she reaped gold in this summer at World Juniors. Though Derivaux does not age up until August of 2026, will take an aim at the NAG records in the two events at her final Winter Junior Championships in the 15-16 age group, both of which are held by future Texas training partner Reagan Smith.
