While Kathleen Baker is busy tearing up the Charlotte Sectional, a 12-year old name Alexandra Walsh is busy scribbling through at least one of Baker’s National Age Group Records in Connecticut.

Walsh, of the Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club swam a 56.76 in the 100 yard IM, which broke Baker’s National Age Group Record of 57.62 by almost a full second. Baker did her swim in 2010.

Walsh’s best time coming into the meet was a 58.30 from Tom Dolan in December; she’s already a Winter Nationals qualifier in the backstroke from December, and has also split 1:05.7 already in the 100 breaststroke on a relay at the Connecticut Age Group Championships at Wesleyan University.

That puts more National Age Group Records in the backstrokes, and perhaps in the 200 IM as well, on notice for later in this meet.

AMAZING PERFORMANCE!
Congrats!

Wow! This swimming championships period of the year in USA is very funny to watch.
And in my recap of meets to watch this week I didn’t talk about the Connecticut championships. Sorry for them. I’ve corrected.

Back to Miss Walsh.
I watched her at the last Tom Dolan Invitational and I was really impressed by her versatility.
It’s amazing when we compare with what we see here in France.
The American kids are used to swimming every stroke very young.
In France we specialize very soon and most of the time it’s all about freestyle.

Hopefully someone has filmed the race.
I think Miss Walsh is ready for other records this week.
