The meet kicked off with the boys’ 1650 freestyle, where 15-year-old Kai Joyner from Rochester Swim Club swam 14:56.62. This was a 12 second drop from his previous best of 15:08.93 and is the 2nd fastest 15-16 time in the country this season behind Luka Mijatovic‘s NAG record time of 14:30.01.
He will also move up to 12th all-time in the event, coming in just three seconds behind Nathan Szobota‘s 11th ranked swim of 14:53.83 from 2023. Joyner will still have another year in the age group.
In another top-15 all-time swim, Nation’s Capital 16-year-old Sadie Buckley won the 200 IM in 1:54.84, five seconds ahead of the rest of the field. She will also take over the 12th all-time age group spot. She passes Bella Sims‘ 2021 swim of 1:54.90 in the rankings. This swim is the 2nd fastest time in the country for 15-16-year-olds this season, just behind Audrey Derivaux‘s 1:53.87 which is the 2nd fastest time ever in the event.

17-year-old Adalynn Biegler from Edina Swim Club won the girls’ 50 free in 22.40, just over two tenths off her lifetime best 22.16 from November. Biegler is headed to Tennessee in the fall.
