This is a guy who went 3:38 in yards in 2020 swimming for TAMU. It was a foregone conclusion that he’d be faster than 5:32 or even that 4:27.

Aww dang it, my days of having a faster PB than Shaine Casas in something seem to have finally come to an end 🙁

Big drop like that usually means there’s more on the way. Stay tuned.

That’s a overstated assumption when the “big drop” drop is effectively the first race ever.(Or since childhood 12 years ago in this case.)

Wym he hasn’t raced the 4IM since he was 13?! His coach was never like “you’re swimming the 4IM this meet” when he was like 17? 😭

He wasn’t consistently swimming club as a high schooler. I think summer 2017 was his first true experience with a club team but before that was mainly with his high school.

Also, why would he?
You didn’t see Usain Bolt running the 800.

76 seconds improvement for 13 years.
5,84 seconds per year.
It’s not that gigantic. 😄

You’re missing the point. With a 5.84 second per year drop he’s projected to go 4:04.68 in LA.
