Age group sensation and national teamer Luka Mijatovic is in action in central California at the Roseville Sectionals. The Texas commit is in striking range of several 15-16 NAGs to add to his already-impressive collection. Though he did not get any on the first full night of competition, he got tantalizingly close in the 400 IM on the end of a tough double.

Splitting 50.26/56.31/1:03.50/50.07, Mijatovic topped the 400 IM final by ten seconds with a time of 3:40.14. This puts the Pleasanton Seahawks swimmer less than half a second off Maximus Williamson’s 3:39.83 NAG mark from 2022. The time also beats his previous best, which already put him #2 all-time in his age group, of 3:40.96.

This 400 IM effort came after Mijatovic had already won the 200 free. His time yesterday evening in that event was 1:33.27. This marks his second fastest time ever, trailing the 1:32.73 he produced last December at CA/NV December sectionals. Thomas Heilman remains the event’s 15-16 NAG holder at 1:32.46.

The 400 IM/200 free double on the girl’s side was also quite newsworthy. Sacramento Aquatics’ Lauren Lonsdale had a massive breakout swim in both events at 14 years of age. First, she won the 200 free with a time of 1:46.49, annihilating her previous best of 1:48.26 and moving her up to #2 among 13-14 girls this season. After that swim, Lonsdale put up a 4:12.62 in the 400 IM. This catapults Lonsdale to #3 in the country this season among her age group and marks a seven-second drop from two months ago.

Another 13-14 sensation in Roseville was Ayden Tan. At 13 years of age, Tan beat a final of high schoolers in the 50 back with a 22.94. It was Tan’s first sub-23 effort and sits over a second ahead of the next-fastest 13-year-old backstroker in 2025-2026 (Jett Hatchard – 24.29). Tan competes for San Ramon Valley Aquatics.

The app is fine. They just haven’t given results from the meet officials so it’s not gonna update. It’s working fine for other meets.
