Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Two-time Connecticut high school state champion Ellison Charette has announced her commitment to swim and study at Georgetown University beginning in the fall of 2026. She publicized the news on Instagram, writing:
I am so excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgetown University! I would like to thank Patrick and Bill at Greenwich Marlins, Coach Lowe and Noreen from Rocky, Coach Brendan from GHS, and all of the coaches at Combine Training. A huge thank you to my parents, sisters, and friends for always supporting me. I also want to thank Coach John and Coach Sam for giving me this opportunity! HOYA SAXA!!
Charette’s top meet of the 2025-26 short course season was the YMCA National Championships in late March, where she placed third in the 1650 free (16:52.89), sixth in the 1000 free (10:09.06), 18th in the 500 free (4:57.49), and 40th in the 200 free (1:54.41), capping a season that saw her drop over 21 seconds in the 1650 and over four seconds in the 500. Her lifetime best of 1:53.63 in the 200 free dates back to the 2025 YMCA Nationals. That meet also marked the first time she cracked the top eight in the 1650 free, where she placed seventh.
On the high school scene, Charette has been a staple for Greenwich at the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) State Championships. This past season, she picked up her first-ever state titles, winning the 500 free (4:57.57) and leading off the 200 free relay to gold with a 24.57 split, in addition to taking silver in the 400 free relay (52.47 split) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:09.55).

- 200 Freestyle: 1:53.63
- 500 Freestyle: 4:57.49
- 1650 Freestyle: 16:52.89
A Division I Mid-Major program, Georgetown competes in the Big East, with the women’s team placing third at this past season’s conference championships. Charette’s current lifetime bests would have placed fourth in the 1650 free and 11th in the 500 free, with her 200 free just outside the scoring cutoff of 1:53.38, leaving her well-positioned to contribute immediately with two full seasons of training ahead before her first conference meet.
Charette joins Cecilia Russell, Claire Reed, and Catherine Dieffenthaller in committing to Georgetown’s class of 2031 so far.
