2026 Speedo Sectionals – Roseville CA

  • February 26-March 1, 2026
  • Roseville Aquatics Complex, Roseville, California
  • Short Course Yards (25 yards)
  • Psych Sheets
  • Meet Central

The state of California will host a pair of Sectionals meets this weekend. One will be in Roseville in the northern part of the state near Sacramento, while the other will be in Oceanside in the southern part of the state between LA and San Diego.

The star of the Roseville Sectionals meet will be 16-year-old Luka Mijatovic. A member of the 2025 World Championship team, his meteoric rise hit a speedbump last summer when a bout of food poisoning impacted his first big senior international meet.

He was fast on this weekend last year, albeit in long course at a Pro Swim Series meet, so there’s hope for some big fireworks.

He is entered in five events and has a chance at breaking the 15-16 National Age Group Record in all of them. He already holds the record in two of those entries.

Record Chase – Luka Mijatovic

Event Personal Best NAG Record
NAG Record Holder
200 free 1:32.73 1:32.46
500 free 4:08.57 4:08.57
1000 free 8:36.71 8:36.71
200 fly 1:43.57 1:40.73
400 IM 3:40.96 3:39.83

That lineup continues his shift to more of a middle-distance swimmer as he has no entry in the 1650 free – where he is the National Age Group Record holder.

Other big names in that Roseville meet include 16-year-old Mikayla Tan from San Ramon Valley Aquatics. She’s the defending Winter Junior – West Champion in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, and this weekend holds top seeds in both of those events, plus the 50 breaststroke and 200 IM. She is also the #2 seed in the 50 and 100 fly.

Both meets will have the depth that California swimming is famous for. For example, the boys’ side has 17-year-old Jordan Ragland as the top seed in the 50 free (19.28) and 100 free (42.24). He is one of five swimmers seeded sub-20 seconds in the 50 free, all of whom are still in high school.

2026 Speedo Sectionals – Oceanside CA

The star of the Oceanside meet will be 15-year-old Gabi Brito from the newly-merged Beach Cities Alpha Swimming. She is the top seed in both the 100 free (47.77) and 100 back (51.78). She will attempt to flex her versatility in this meet by swimming the 100 yard distances of all four strokes, plus the 50 fly and 200 breaststroke.

In the 100 fly, she is the #2 seed and will race among others Stanford alum Lillie Nordmann. Nordmann, 23, swam her first meet since the NCAA Championships three weeks ago, posting a 50.74 in the 100 yard free and a 1:07.37 in the 100 yard breast.

As California high school swimming season ramps up, these meets will be a good tone setter for swimmers like Andrew Maksymowski, the top seed in the 200 and 500 free who will be chasing state titles later in the semester. He finished 4th in the 200 and 4th in the 500 free at last year’s high school state championship meet.
