2026 Automatic Qualifier Update: Ivy League Women and Patriot League Men See 3 New AQs

There is one more night left of week two of the 2026 NCAA Division I Conference Championship season, and the number of Automatic Qualifiers has soared over the last few days.

On Friday, 13 new women earned automatic qualifications with their conference winning time, and the Ivy League saw three new qualifiers today in the 200 free, 100 back, and 100 fly.

Brown’s Morgan Lukinac won the 200 freestyle in 1:44.20, which came in more than a second under the NCAA standard of 1:45.53. It was also under the 2025 Invite Time of 1:44.74.

Sydney Lu swam the 100 fly in 51.97, a new lifetime best time, which undercut the standard of 52.52.

Anya Mostek won the 100 backstroke for Harvard in 51.31, setting a new Ivy Record in the event and coming in more than a second under the 52.65 standard.

On the men’s side, the Patriot League saw three new swimming qualifiers. Johnny Crush swam 44.80 in the men’s 100 backstroke to earn the top spot for Army and come in well under the 46.29 standard.

Kohen Rankin, also from Army, swam the men’s 100 breaststroke in 51.69 for the win, which was about a second off his lifetime best of 50.69, but was still nearly a second under the NCAA standard of 52.58.

Finally, Navy’s Ben Irwin won the men’s 100 fly in 46.11, exactly tying the NCAA standard to earn his own NCAA qualification. Swimming the 100 fly represented a shift for Irwin, who has historically raced the backstroke events, and earned an individual invite last year for backstroke.

I know swimmers are only listed here with the event they earned their first AQ but for some swimmers their 2nd AQ is in their best event and under last year’s invite time, ex. Felix Jedbratt’s 100 Fly time was 45.02 (just of his own 44.97 meet record from last year) but under the 2025 invite time of 45.12.
