Austin Ross from Austin, Texas has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Boston College beginning in fall 2026.

Ross swims for Waterloo Swimming out of Austin and had a huge meet at Winter Juniors-West back in December. There he finaled in the 50 free, posting a lifetime best 20.12 in prelims for 14th before swimming a 20.34 in finals for 16th. He also swam to a lifetime best 44.70 in the 100 free while leading off the team’s 400 free relay that went on to finish 3rd.
Since Winter Juniors, he also has swam numerous lifetime bests in other events. Just last month at the TXLA New Year’s Classic, he swam best times in the 200 free (1:46.01), 100 breast (56.91), 200 breast (2:12.82), and 400 IM (4:15.14).
Ross’ Best SCY Times Are:
- 50 free: 20.12
- 100 free: 44.70
- 100 back: 49.07
- 100 fly: 49.08
The Boston College men finished 13th out of 15 teams at the 2025 ACC Championships. Benjamin Huffman led the way with five individual points while Jack Doyle scored four individual points. Doyle notably swam a school record 1:44.62 in the 200 IM.
Based on his best times, Ross is a huge addition to the team at the relay level. His best time in the 50 free would lead the program this season as Matthew Lang currently leads the team with a 20.16. Ross’ best time in the 100 free would sit at #4 on the team so far this season, bringing him free relay potential. It took a 19.41 in the 50 free and a 42.78 in the 100 free to score at 2025 ACCs.
Ross will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Demir Ayrikaya, Peyton Harrison, Julien Lee, Michael Zhou, and Quincy Topping.
