Freestyler Halin Song Commits To Stay In-State With Commitment To Washington State

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Halin Song from Mill Creek, Washington has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Washington State beginning in fall 2026.

Song swims for West Coast Aquatics and most recently competed at the Washington State Senior SCY Championships. There she was highlighted by personal best times in the 50 free (24.50), 100 back (59.88), and 200 back (2:07.31).

She is currently in her senior year at Jackson High School. Back in November, she helped the Jackson girls program to a 4th place team finish at the WIAA Girls 4A State Championship. She finaled in both of her individual events, finishing 5th in the 100 free in a season best 53.58 as well as 6th in the 200 free in a 1:55.94. She also helped the team’s 200 free relay to 3rd and the 400 free relay to 4th.

Song’s Best SCY Times Are:

  • 50 free: 24.50
  • 100 free: 53.25
  • 200 free: 1:54.99
  • 500 free: 5:13.35

The Washington State women finished 5th out of 10 teams at the 2025 Mountain West Championships with 975 points, only 23 points behind 4th place Nevada (998 points). Breaststroker Emily Lundgren led the way, winning the 200 IM and 200 breast. Lundgren went on to score at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

Based on her best times, Song adds depth to the team’s sprint and mid-distance freestyle groups. Darcy Revitt currently leads the team in the 50 (21.84) and 100 (47.64) frees while Lauren Wille leads the team in the 200 (1:46.74) and 500 (4:45.64). It took a 50.80 in the 100 free and a 1:51.34 in the 200 free to earn a second swim at the 2025 Mountain West Championships.

Song will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Ffion Humphreys, Grace Carrington, London Hughes, Ivy Ladrow, Marlee Winser, Lauren Sexton, and Audrey Hill.
