Summer Juniors Qualifier Caroline Mulrooney Commits To Notre Dame For 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Caroline Mulrooney from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Notre Dame beginning in fall 2026.

“I am so blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Notre Dame. Thank you to God, my family, coaches and friends for helping me along the way. I also want to thank the ND coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity. Go Irish!”

Mulrooney swims for Riptide Swim Team and competed at Winter Juniors-West in December. There she was highlighted by a season best 4:29.95 400 IM.

Last February, she dropped over two seconds in the 500 free at the Minnesota RSC President’s Day Meet. There she swam to a 4:56.80, a time that still sits as her personal best.

Mulrooney’s Best SCY Times Are:

  • 500 free: 4:56.80
  • 1000 free: 10:02.91
  • 1650 free: 17:09.63
  • 400 IM: 4:23.91

The Notre Dame women finished 12th out of 15 teams at the 2025 ACC Championships with 275 points, about 100 points behind 11th place Duke. The Fighting Irish are currently in the middle of their first season under head coach Michael Norment.

Mulrooney’s best time in the 1000 free would most notably lead the program so far this season. Alyssa Street leads the team in the 1000 free with a 10:06.35 as well as in the 1650 free with a 16:51.36. It took a 4:46.77 in the 5000 and a 16:41.35 in the 1650 free to score at 2025 ACCs.

Mulrooney will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Ellie Bina, Catie Brenneman, Camryn Tilger, Jaylee Hager, Averie Hager, and Renee Nealon. Bina is also from Minnesota and currently competes for North Suburban Aquatic Club.
