CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois swim and dive defeated Eastern Illinois, 157-77, on Saturday afternoon, concluding its home schedule for the 2025-26 season with a resounding victory.
The Illini emerged victorious in all 14 events on the day, starting with a fitting win for its quartet of seniors on Senior Day, Alexis Wendel, Sara Jass, Adelaide Reaser, and Liv Dorshorst in the 200-medley relay (1:46.32). Dorshorst later went on to win the 200 butterfly (2:08.70) and Jass the 200 breaststroke (2:14.24) and 400 freestyle relay (3:25.25), alongside Chloe Diner, Hailey Vlcek, and Bella Wojtowicz.
Kennedy Rainwater took home gold in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle races, with times of 5:00.95 and 10:25.42, respectively.

EIU women’s swimming completed their tune-up before the Summit League Championship in two weeks. The Panthers traveled to an in-state opponent, the University of Illinois, where they dropped the dual meet 157-77.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay squad, consisting of Jenna Patridge, Genevieve Biberdorf, Sophia Buswell, and Bella Earll, earned a second-place finish with a time of 1:50.61.
Bella Earll secured a silver medal in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 54.97. Following closely behind her, Biberdorf earned third place with a time of 57.55. Biberdorf also earned a second-place finish in the 100 Yard IM with a time of 1:01.67, which ranks 6th fastest in EIU history. She now holds the 5th and 6th fastest 100 Yard IM time.
Jenna Patridge earned a second-place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:09.74.
Remi Bokos earned a top three podium finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:25.12.
In the next event, Kaitlyn Evans and Sydney Vandervelde went two and three in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Evans finished with a time of 1:04.92, while Vandervelde finished with a time of 1:06.11.
Rounding out the meet for the Panthers, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team consisting of Bella Earll, Anna Mueller, Sophia Buswell, and Jenna Patridge scored a silver medal with a time of 3:48.00.
Up Next: The Panthers will wait for the Summit League Championship, which will begin on February 18th in Iowa City.
