“BOTR” Ranked Jackson Irwin Commits To Texas A&M For 2027

Jackson Irwin from Sarasota, Florida has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Texas A&M in fall 2027. Irwin is a “Best of the Rest” ranked recruit in the boys high school class of 2027.

“All in for A&M”

Irwin swims for Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team and is currently a junior at Sarasota High School. Last month, he swam to a runner-up finish in the 500 free at the Florida Class 4A State Championship swimming a lifetime best 4:25.14. He also was 3rd in the 200 IM in a lifetime best 1:49.72. He dropped 2.82 seconds in the 500 free and 3.24 in the 200 IM.

Over the summer, Irwin finished his long course season at Summer Juniors. There he was highlighted by a 9th place finish in the 1500 free as he touched in a 15:37.62 dropping over three seconds in the process. He also finished 13th in the 800 free in a 8:12.93 and 13th in the 400 IM in a 4:25.71, both marking lifetime bests.

Irwin’s Best SCY Times Are:

• 1650 free: 15:19.04
• 500 free: 4:25.14
• 400 IM: 3:55.89

The Texas A&M men finished 5th out of 11 teams at the 2025 SEC Championships. Baylor Nelson led the way with 77 individual points but he has since transferred to Texas.

It took a 15:04.12 in the 1650 free, 4:18.24 in the 500 free, and a 3:47.63 in the 400 IM to score at the 2025 SEC Championships. Texas A&M only scored four points in the 500 free and nine in the 1650 free at 2025 SECs, with the 500 free being the lowest scoring event for the program.

Texas A&M has already been busy getting recruits for fall 2027 as Irwin will arrive as a member of the class of 2031 along with Micah Tennison, Alex Barone, Quinn Caputo, and Parker Knapp. Tennison and Barone are also “BOTR” ranked recruits. Barone also specializes in distance free with best times of 4:26.20 in the 500 and 15:40.22 in the 1650 free so the two will have the chance to train together all four years.
