In addition to her four individual golds, she also has broken two European records previously held by Sarah Sjostrom and Katinka Hosszu twice in the same session. On Thursday, she broke the 200 free European record previously held by Sjostrom and the 100 IM record previously held by Hosszu. Tonight, it was the 200 IM record held by Hosszu and the 100 free record held by Sjostrom. Steenbergen’s 200 IM swim was the 2nd fastest performance all-time, only behind Kate Douglass of the US.

Steenbergen’s swim tonight was the #5 performance all-time in the 100 freestyle. She entered the meet sitting outside of the top 25 performances all-time as it takes a sub-51 second swim to make the top 25 performances.
