“Men’s 100 free – Jack Alexy (USA) – BUSTED BY JACK ALEXY”
Ah yes
👀🙈
finally, I have something in common w/ Jack Alexy
Say you don’t win at Stop 1, but do win at Stop 2. Do you get Crown Buster money for that?
Is it otherwise in your best interest (and that of anyone else entered in the same event at Stop 2 who didn’t win at Stop 1) to just let the same swimmer win at Stop 2 so you can have a chance for some money at Stop 3?
No. You only get Crown Buster money at stop 3.
I guess that’s one strategy – but that ignores the other moneys you can earn for placing high in the meet and overall rankings, which winning races really helps. Maybe what you described would be in the best interest of a true specialist who maybe only is going to contend in one race so has no hope at the overall money…?
I guess I could see that as an outside plausible ‘better outcome’ for a distance swimmer maybe. Maybe? Maybe.
What do they get for individual wins at each stop?
Seems weird to get $10k for winning all 3, $2.5k for beating someone the 3rd time but less for winning the first and third stop.
Unless they want the 3rd stop to be much more important than the first 2.
That’s World Aquatics for you.
$0 for winning one event. Top 20 at each stop get money, top 10 overall, the bonuses for WR/crown/crown buster.
If you went to one stop and won an individual event but didn’t make top 20, you get $0
It all discourages the best racing and focusing on one event per night and setting WRs. What do you want better racing or more WRs?
They get nothing directly for an individual win at each stop, though individual wins do influence an athlete’s overall standings pretty significantly (which leads to money).
U should get the triple crown bonus if u bust 3 crowns
W idea
