Marcel Jureko from Elblag, Poland has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Wyoming beginning in fall 2026.

Jureko most recently represented Poland at the 2025 World Junior Championships. His highest finish was 13th in the 200 breast as he posted a 2:15.63, less than half a second off his lifetime best. He swam to a lifetime best 1:03.46 in the 100 breast, earning him a 33rd place finish.
His best time in the 200 breast comes from the start of July when he swam to a 13th place finish at the European Junior Championships. He touched in a 2:15.27 and also swam a lifetime best 29.28 in the 50 breast for 33rd.
Jureko’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
- 100 breast: 1:03.46 (55.36)
- 200 breast: 2:15.27 (1:58.26)
The Wyoming men finished 5th out of six teams at the 2025 Western Athletic Conference Championships. Gavin Smith led the way with conference titles in the 100 fly (46.85) and 200 fly (1:43.96).
Based on his best converted times, Jureko is a huge pick up for the Wyoming men. His best time in the 200 breast would already make the conference ‘A’ final. The team’s highest finisher was Griff Orloff who swam to a 2:00.98 for 14th. Orloff also led the team in the 100 breast with a 55.29 that he swam for 12th. Orloff just finished his sophomore season so the two will overlap for one season.
Jureko will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Stephen Argabright, Archer Sanchez, and Joey Sudermann.
