The speedy swims we saw yesterday continued on tonight on day two of the 2025 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup stop in Carmel, Indiana.
This evening, we saw the final of the women’s 200m freestyle unfold, with Olympic multi-medalist Mollie O’Callaghan of Australia ripping a gold medal-worthy time of 1:50.77.
O’Callaghan of Australia beat the field by nearly 2 seconds with compatriot Lani Pallister settling for silver in 1:52.41 followed by Anna Peplowoski, who wrangled up bronze in 1:53.08.
O’Callaghan’s 1:50.77 effort erased the former U.S. Open record of 1:51.99 Hong Kong Olympic medalist Siobhan Haughey put on the books three years ago.
O’Callaghan split 13.90/14.08/14.06/14.21/14.36/14.30/13.71 to get the job done tonight in Carmel, leading wire-to-wire in the process.
O’Callaghan’s dominant performance now renders the Aussie the #3 performer of all time, according to the World Aquatics database.

Mollie is dogged. Her mum is tough, her father is dogged.
Mol dog brewing up a new WR?
Based on her LCM performance this year and her underwaters she easily has the ability for a 1:49
Amazing
Was a Commonwealth and Oceanian record too.
Glad that we now get the opportunity to see what Mollie can do in SCM freestyle.
Who had the previous?
Arnie
