Alfredo Dominguez from Miami, Florida, will swim and study at the University of Tampa in the fall.

Dominguez recently graduated from Mater Lakes Academy, where he was a member of the boys’ varsity swim team. At the 2024 FHSAA Class 2A State Championships, he came in 2nd in the 200 free (1:39.89) and 100 fly (49.45), scoring a PB in the latter. He also led off both free relays (21.43/46.02), adding two more silver medals to his tally and helping Mater Lakes win the state title.
Swimming with his club team, the Blue Marlins of Hialeah Gardens, he updated all his best times (50/100 free, 100 back, and 100/200 fly) at the Florida Gold Coast Senior Championships in March. He placed 3rd in the 50 free, 9th in the 100 free, 6th in the 200 free, 11th in the 100 back, 5th in the 100 fly, and 5th in the 100 fly.
Dominguez competed at Ocala Sectionals at the end of June, earning PBs in the 50/200 free (24.13/1:55.74) and 50 fly (26.20) to begin long course season on a high note.
Tampa men won the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championships and were runners-up at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships. Dominguez’s best times would have scored at the conference meet in the ‘B’ finals of the 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly, and 200 fly. It took 1:39.33 in the 200 free and 50.76 in the 100 back to get second swims at the SSC meet.

Dominguez will join Auburn transfers Aidan Clements, Britton Spann, and Joshua Noll and fellow class of 2029 teammate Cody Ano, Hudson Evans, Julian Ithier, Nick Cavic, Riqui Iturbe Cosano, Roberto Zarate, Robert Alvarez, Tristan Bonnet-Eymard, Tyler Coapstick, Kasparas Venslauskas, and Walker Lanoue in the fall.
